Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) fights childhood obesity, undernourishment and physical inactivity by helping schools become healthier places so kids can live healthier lives. At our core are thousands of committed and passionate people who have banded together to create healthier learning environments for children.
Since 2004, Action for Healthy Kids has recognized Healthy School Heroes for their exceptional dedication and service towards the vision, mission, and goals of Action for Healthy Kids through volunteer work in a school community.
This year, they are recognizing Healthy School Heroes nationally in two categories:
1. State Teams – Individuals who are working at the state or regional level with Action for Healthy Kids state teams to move AFHK programs and initiatives forward.
2. Grassroots Volunteers – Individuals who are working in school communities to advance the AFHK mission.
