Blessed Be the Name of God Forever!
We welcome you to take a look at the advantages of Our Lady of Black Rock School at Assumption Parish. Drawing on a rich religious history the dates back to the late 1880’s our school offers faith-filled learning, spiritual motivation and academic excellence. We were built from the rich traditions of thriving ethnic communities where faith, hard work and determination built a city.
Combining the teaching philosophies of several communities of Religious Women, Our Lady of Black Rock School at Assumption Parish was born from the consolidation of Assumption School, St. Francis Xavier School and St. Florian School and later joined by Coronation School, St. Elizabeth of Hungary School, and most recently All Saints School. Our mutual history has graduated thousands of successful men and women who embraced the Priesthood, Religious life, professional careers in Education, Law, Medicine, Politics, Government Services, and those who entered the labor force of our factories, industries and small businesses. Our alumni have distinguished themselves as responsible and productive citizens who take pride in their educational background and faith.
We share an educational corridor with private and secular educational institutions that are easily accessible for field education, reference and mutual cooperation that benefits each student. Our partnerships with area colleges and community organizations bring a wide variety of in- house and after school programs that tap the resources of national organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Our students are high energy, of mixed backgrounds of faith and heritage that blend together to offer a unique experience of city living.
Our faculty is a comprised of experienced professionals who themselves are involved in mentoring and adjunct professorships at area colleges. All of the qualities combine to make Our Lady of Black Rock School at Assumption Parish an excellent school where learning and character development are marked with a spiritual backbone.
I invite you to take time to visit us at your convenience. God Bless.
